The chief aim of this documents is to provide information for entrepreneurs looking to start a business as self-employed ‘tradesmen,’ but also for entrepreneurs who may already perform one of trades as defined in Act No. 455/1991 Coll., on Trade Licensing (Trade Licensing Act, or TLA), as amended, in a clear and comprehensive manner, with regard to basic legal requirements connected therewith, whether at the start of the process or during performance of a trade.

Guidelines for notification of vocational trade. For performing a vocational trade the entrepreneur must prove a professional competence, either by a certificate of apprenticeship, a school-leaving examination, a university degree, or recognition of professional qualifications.

Guideposts for obtaining permitted trade licences
Guidelines for applying for a permitted trade authorisation. The trade authorisation is to be the authorisation of the state for carrying on the trade specified in the Trade Licensing Act. For obtaining the trade authorisation the entrepreneur must prove a professional competence and in certain cases, also to meet other condictions.
