As the holder of an energy sector business licence, you may apply to the Energy Regulatory Office to cancel your licence pursuant to the provisions of the Energy Act. Under the Energy Act, the Energy Regulatory Office is authorised to cancel licences. This is one of the legal forms of terminating an energy sector business licence.

How to get the service
What do you need when solving the service electronically
When applying electronically to cancel your licence, you must concurrently submit:
- a proposal for resolving the situation arising and a list of affected market operators;
- documents stating that all affected market operators with whom the applicant has concluded a contract under the Energy Act have been informed of your intention to terminate activities (notification with proof of delivery or the market operator’s signature, newspaper advertisement, agreement to terminate deliveries etc.)

The fee for electronically processed service
The administrative fee for electronic submission of an application to cancel a licence is:
CZK 500
Administrative fee payment methods:
- one or more revenue stamps,
- bank transfer to the Energy Regulatory Office’s bank account.

What you’ll need to provide
You can personally submit an application to cancel an energy sector business licence at the Energy Regulatory Office’s relevant mail room, or send it by post.
You must also submit the following documents:
- a proposal for resolving the situation arising and a list of affected market operators;
- documents stating that all affected market operators with whom the applicant has concluded a contract under the Energy Act have been informed of your intention to terminate activities (notification with proof of delivery or the market operator’s signature, newspaper advertisement, agreement to terminate deliveries etc.)
