Main information about the service
The owner or long-term holder of a specimen of an endangered species registered pursuant to § 23 of Act No 100/2004 Coll., on Trade in Endangered Species, is obliged to report to the locally competent registration office any changes concerning the registered specimen, such as death, loss, loan, lease, transfer of ownership of the specimen, additional marking of the specimen or permanent export from Czechia.
Thetime limit for such notification is 30 days from the date on which the change occurred or became known to the owner or long-term holder; in the case of loans, leases and additional marking of the specimen, the owner or long-term holder is obliged to submit a registration certificate within the same time limit to indicate the changes.
The registration authorities are regional offices; in the case of Prague it is the Prague City Hall.
In the event of death or loss of a specimen, you, as the owner or long-term holder, must submit the proof of registration to the registration office within 30 days of the date of death or loss. Similarly, you are obliged to hand in the registration certificate within the same time limit in the case of permanent export of the specimen from Czechia; in the case of permanent transport of the specimen from Czechia to another EU Member State, you must hand in the registration certificate to the competent registration authority, and in the case of permanent export of the specimen to a third country (outside the EU), to the Ministry of the Environment.

How to get the service
What you’ll need to provide
You will report the change concerning the registration of the specimento the locally competent registration office (regional offices; in the case of Prague, the Prague City Hall) and at the same time you will hand over the original registration certificate to the office to mark the relevant changes (in the case of loan, lease and additional marking of the specimen) or to deposit it at the office (in the case of death or loss of the specimen or its permanent export to another EU Member State).
If the change to the registered specimen is permanent export to a third country (outside the European Union), you only need to notify the registration office of this change; in this case you must submit the original registration certificate together with the application for a CITES export permit to the Ministry of the Environment.
Where to solve the service
Notification of a change in the registration of a specimen of an endangered species, together with the submission of the original registration certificate to indicate changes in the registration certificate or its complete submission, can be made in person as part of communication with the competent official of the local competent authority (regional office, in the case of Prague at the Prague City Hall) who is responsible for the agenda in question, or the notification of the change together with the original registration certificate can be sent in writing by post to the address of the local competent authority.
In the case of natural persons not engaged in business, local jurisdiction is determined by the place of permanent residence, in the case of natural persons engaged in business by the place of business. In the case of legal persons, local jurisdiction is determined by the place of the registered office or the place of the registered office of the organisational unit.
In the case of permanent export of a specimen, the original registration certificate shall be handed over to the Ministry of the Environment in person at the filing office or by post to:
