Main information about the service

If a foreign investor wants to invest in a target person that holds a licence for nationwide radio or television broadcasting or a publisher of periodicals whose aggregate minimum average printed circulation is 100,000 copies per day for the last calendar year, they must submit a proposal to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for consultation on whether the foreign investment may pose a threat to the security of Czechia or its internal or public order before the foreign investment is completed.

In other cases not covered by the mandatory screening of the investment, the foreign investor may submit a proposal to the ministry for consultation on whether the foreign investment may pose a threat to the security of Czechia or its internal or public order. If the outcome of this consultation is negative, the investment will not be subject to ex officio scrutiny in the future. If a security risk is identified during this consultation, ex officio scrutiny of the investment will follow.
