Main information about the service
The Energy Regulatory Office grants licences for:
- the generation, transmission, distribution and trading of electricity;
- the production, transport, distribution, storage and trading of gas;
- the production and distribution of thermal energy;
- the activity of market operators.
Every licence holder for business in the energy sector must be assigned an identification number (IČ).
If, as an applicant for a business licence in the energy sector, as a natural person, you have never been assigned an ID number, or have been assigned an ID number in the past which is currently invalid, the Energy Regulatory Office will assign/activate that ID number based on the application which you are obliged to make at the same time as the license application or during the ongoing licensing procedure.
