Main information about the service
The district mining authorities allow special interventions in the earth's crust.
Special interventions in the earth 's crust concern equipment for
- storage of gases or liquids in natural rock structures and underground spaces (underground storage of gases and liquids)
- storage of radioactive and other waste in underground spaces,
- industrial use of the thermal energy of the earth's crust, with the exception of the thermal energy of the water brought to the surface,
- storage of carbon dioxide in natural rock structures.

How to get the service
What do you need when solving the service electronically
The application must be submitted in electronic form, to which the documentation must be attached, especially:
- description of the purpose of special intervention in the earth's crust,
- evaluation of exploration works and assessment of the suitability of the given territory and its geological structure for use for the intended purpose,
- description of the provision of conditions and restrictions resulting from the decision to establish a protected area for special interventions in the earth's crust,
- description of the scope, breakdown and time sequence of the planned works,
- surface situation map,
- a map of the mining situation, or structural maps with the marking of mine workings,
- characteristic sections of the affected area.
Where and how to solve the service electronically
It is possible to communicate with the district mining authorities via e-mail, data box and in certain cases also via the forms of the public portal AIS SBS. The application form for a mining activity permit can be used to apply for a special intervention permit.

An administrative fee of CZK 1,500 is paid for the issuance of a permit.
What you’ll need to provide
The application must be submitted, to which the documentation must be attached, especially:
- description of the purpose of special intervention in the earth's crust,
- evaluation of exploration works and assessment of the suitability of the given territory and its geological structure for use for the intended purpose,
- description of the provision of conditions and restrictions resulting from the decision to establish a protected area for special interventions in the earth's crust,
- description of the scope, breakdown and time sequence of the planned works,
- surface situation map,
- a map of the mining situation, or structural maps with the marking of mine workings,
- characteristic sections of the affected area.
Where to solve the service
The district mining authorities can be contacted by post made to the address of the registered office of the relevant district mining authority, or by personal filing at the filing office or orally in the minutes. In certain cases, it is also possible to communicate via printed forms from the AIS SBS public portal. A printed application form for a mining activity permit can be used to apply for a special intervention permit.
